GVL,
Again I'll defer to Kevin should he wish to comment on anything.
Question 1
11.46 May horse artillery advance after normal combat ( not bombardment)?
..........See 11.55
Question 2
Are Terrain effect modifiers the same for bombardment as for normal combat?
.......... 11.54 Compute the combat odds ratio just as it would be in the case of a regular attack plus the additions of A, B, and C.
Question 3
11.56 " Artillery that have not attacked or bombarded,..."
Is artillery an exception of rule 11.21?
11.21 " All of the defending Combat Units in a stack must be attacked as a single combined combat strength".
.......... Sounds like this is applied when you're attacking. Look at 11.51 C first. Say the stack has one artillery and one infantry in it. The artillery is going to bombard one hex and infantry will attack another. If the infantry resolves its combat first and gets an Ar or Ex type result then the artillery must conform with the result. Looks like you will want to conduct bombardments first in these cases.
Question 4
12.1 How do I know if my Casualty level marker is in Night or Day Reorganisation Box?
.......... I didn't use the track. I used a seperate piece of paper to keep track of casualties vs Demoralization Levels of the different corps.
Question 5
11.43 Must all units that retreat out of a hex, retreat to the same hex or may they split up?
.......... I can't find it stated one way or the other. We played it being able to split up.
Question 6
11.31.b : slope hex : modifier is only up hill
but in TEC chart : Slope hex in combat : does not mention up hill?
.......... We had slope hexside figured ok. Slope hex gave us some problems. Is a slope hex one that is surrounded on all sides by slope hexsides or is it any hex that has the downhill slope art work in it?
Question 7
7 Command : May an English commander set in command a Prussian officer or a Prussian combat unit?
.......... Yes, see 17.0
Question 8
11.5 :
An artillery unit is stacked with horse artillery and cavalry and infantry units.
The artillery unit bombards the enemy unit.
If defender must retreat after bombardment ( not combat), which units may advance?
.......... Depends on if the other units had been designated to attack the hex or not. See 11.46 of the game's included Q&A sheet.
Enjoy,
Forrest
Thanks for the answers, Forrest.
Most of the questions are answered.
remark:
Question 6 : I don't have a problem with slope hex : I think the slope hexside is important. The problem is that it isn't written in the TEC that the modifier is used only up hill in combat.
I hope Kevin Zucker can answer the questions where we still have some doubts.

GVL,
How do you define a slope hex?
Forrest,
Your question is a good question. I don't know the answer.
It is the same question as : How do you define a woods hex ( another thread of me)?
I still have no answer to this question from Kevin Zucker or OSG.
I hope they will soon start working on my questions list.

GVL,
Have you tried 'Seven Days of 1809'? I looked in those rules to see how it handled woods and slope hexes. I didn't read all the in and outs but it's the wood hexsides that are important and a slope hex is one with the art work in the hex itself.

Forrest,
Thanks for providing the answers above. You know the game pretty well so I am sure your advice is reliable. I will take some time to look at this and will post my comments directly.
