I have a question concerning the Sound of the Guns rule.
There it says that only a force that did not make a Force March this turn can go to the sound of the guns. When talking about turn, does it mean "player turn". If not, it would mean that the phasing player would depend on what he did on the force march before the last movement phase, and I think it would be to go "too far in the past".
Thanks,
Alberto

Yes, also I think that in Sound of Guns rule the word "turn" must be "player turn".
Kevin ?? Are you agree ?

In one turn player can only make on Force March so ... no problem I think.
Turn X
Player A moves. Player B Force March.
Player B moves. Player A Force March.
End of Turn X

Nico, you have not understood the question.
You read in consimworld forum the messages #1812, #1813,#1818, #1819 :o
The final answer of Kevin (in #1819) was that word "turn" in this rule means "previous friendly Forced March Segment" for each player.
This means that for phasing player if a friendly unit has moved in his March Segment of previous player turn then this unit now cannot move using Sound of Guns.
And for non-phasing player if a unit has moved in the March Segment of present player turn then this unit cannot move using Sound of Guns.

its perhaps a bit late to take part in the discussion but the problem arised to me recently.
I think that if a force don't move during a forced march phase, then moves or not during his next movement phase, it cannot forced march during battle because time is gone.
The rule only run with a non phasing force which didn't move (failed or don't try) during his forced march phase, and try to join a friendly force being attacked. But is this force considered as a reserve or can it choose its status?
The problem that arised was this : In SOA Soult and Murat come to contact with 2 russian forces. One russian force succeed to break contact. So Only Murat can fight. Soult has nobody to attack. In this case, can he try to join Murat who attack an opponent during second and following rounds?

Daniel,
Yes. Soult can try to join Murat the following rounds.
The point is: try to imagine the situation "on the ground." The game will try to remain faithful to real life when it is only a question on "Yes" or "No."
