How does this game series show the advantages of the French corps system? Is it reflected in the, on average, higher initiative levels of the French leaders, or is there something I have missed? (I have not played the series ftf yet)

Hi Brian,
Command Spans and Subordination Ratings also play a part in portraying the greater efficiency of the French system in the early campaigns. The Prussian Army HQ was still sending individual messages to regiments during the Jena campaign.

The biggest advantage of the French corps system is (for example in TETE or SOA) that You take all forces under Napoleon, Davout, Lannes and Murat (initiative 5) and dont have to spend too much Administration Points ;) and there is no one from coalition general to stop You :-).

Other advantages of the corps system included:
-Reduced attrition,
-Quicker marching,
-combined arms benefit.
The Campaigns System reflects all of these advantages.
