For a few days, I have 7D1809 on the table, playing solo the 2. scenario (April, 20th).
It is my first game, although not my first wargame. I do like the rules. (I started in this hobby with 4 Last Battles/SPI)
Since I did not know the campaign, I started the game trying to discover what the options to both sides were. Maybe the Austrians were a bit to confident, and so IV corps has already taken a sever beating during the first rainy day. Charles will probably now try to fall back slowly.
I have a probably unimportant question: Why does it say in rule 6.23 quote succesful or not unquote. What did I miss? I understand reorganising is automatic.

Regarding 6.23:
See 12.24.
Essentially, formations that have been demoralized do not automatically reorganize, each unit needs to make a die roll. If the die roll is failed, the unit is moved to the Permanently Eliminated Units box instead.
Sounds like you had a good game, Claude. I am hoping my opponent is available this weekend for another 'go'.

Thanks Mike,
now it makes sense. Maybe I should not play late in the night, however the family needs do not permit for early evening games.
Actually I am not yet finished with the game. I managed to play 3 turns of the Abensberg scenario and I am going to play my first night turn (April, 20th) in about half an hour. If I remember the rules well, the Austrians are going to recover a bit. Well, Charles has moved to Eckmühl in the late afternoon to give Rosenberg (IV Corps) a hand and Liechtenstein a kick in the a... The latter has failed every initiative roll and was like paralyzed.
The idea is to have the reserve corps moving to give the Austrians a fall back position.

PS You wrote a nice AAR. I hope your partner shows up, although I think to remember he's no grognard.

Claude,
Isn't Liechtenstein a Commander? I could have sworn he was a [1]. Keith (my opponent) always has trouble with the IIR corps officer, despite his rating of (4).
Good luck on the retrograde--the French can be tough in pursuit!

Hi Mike,
I am locked two days in a budget seminar and cannot see the counters. I'll check on Liechtenstein on Friday evening. That would give the IIR more mobility, would'nt it.

Hmm, this is odd, Liechtenstein looks like a (2) on the jpg and a [1] on the animation.
The animation is very well done :)
Later note: Just checked the counter scan on LYG and it is a [1] there as well...curiouser and curiouser! Maybe changed during playtesting, or are my eyes old and gimpy?

Hey, sorry for sowing confusion, anyway he is a [1].

Thanks guys,
The Liechtenstein counter on my table has definitely a [1] in brackets.
For the rest of my scenario, I'll consider him awake or recovered from a sudden cold and he will move to help the other guys falling back in good order. Anyway this was just a tutorial before becoming serious.
And now I will have a look at the flash animation.
