Can't help you on the pronunciation of Gyulai. The others are
Scheltuchin
Seliwanow
Tschoglikow
Turtshanischef
Starkenfels
All the above except the last are Russian or Polish names filtered through our German sources, so they pronounce like German.
I'm spelling them from memory so they are not 100% accurate.
There is a website run by a Russian researcher and his wife, which will run down these and other leaders for you.
No worries, G'July he will be. I reckon it'll be closer than our initial Gee-oo-lai.
Thanks for the other names. I always mumble the names out when adjusting the leader tracks. So it is nice to be able to do it right.

Names with -in, -ow at the end are typical russian names. Polish names would end (generally) on -ski. Like prince Poniatowski, generals Dąbrowski, Sierawski, Uminski, Krukowiecki (four last were in Napoleon at Crossroad game)
Thanks Nico, I speak a bit of German so having the names in a German spelling makes it easier for me. I live in Australia now and have quite a few friends of Polish and Russian background.
I usually do ok with Polish names but occasionally I get stumped by the spelling and have to ask.
Russian names are more interesting as they need some transliteration from the Cyrillic alphabet. eg Chechen is Tsjetsjen in dutch and Tschetschen in german.

I had a chance to check with a Hungarian and Gyulai is pronounced "July".
