Hi,
a NLB-series game about the Battle of Bautzen! When do we see the game evolving from the dark side of just planing? I think it is more than time to get this battle onto grap. Sure there was a Japanese edition to it, but 1) years ago, 2) no copy of it is on the market to buy or trade AND 3) a Kevin-Zucker-edition is more or less a special. ;)
So I will pledge for a Bautzen-game!! :)

Cool Andy!

We have a nice prototype from Alessandro ... the map is an odd size, 29" by 33" (our printer can handle sheets up to 30 x 40"). So we have a map and a basic o.b. We will be introducing cards similar to those in Four Lost Battles, that would impact Marshal Ney's arrival as well as weather and other factors.

Kevin,
that really sounds great. I'm working in the Bautzen area and be able to provide photos or other things if needes or wanted for a littel kind of "gimmic". ALso I have a Nafziger-OOB for that battle. If this could be for help I would provide it to you. Please let me know, if I can do any other favour or help.
Thanks Kevin for getting along,
Cheers

Andy,

Thanks for your offer of help. That is very interesting. Has the countryside changed a lot? Maybe we can tour the battlefield together.

Kevin,

"Has the countryside changed a lot?"

- Actually not too much. It's still "rolling terrain" in an open, not too populated countryside. - Well, the towns of Bautzen, Hoyerswerda and Bischofswerda have gained in population. So their "outskirts" may have grown a bit. But, as far as I assume the overall picture still shows the "real Napoleonics"... ;) (a bit as I told you
about the Jena-Auerstaedt-area...

"Maybe we can tour the battlefield together?"

- That would be a pleasure to me, to show you around  (actually the whole 1813-area is quite "close by":
From Dresden (as a point of logistics - as Napoleon did!!) the distance is about:-
- 2 hrs to Jena and
- 2,5 hrs to Auerstaedt.
- 0,5 hrs to Bautzen
- 2 hrs to Grossbeeren and
- 1,5 hrs to Lutzen/ Grossgoerschen and just
- 1 hr to Leipzig.
Even to Kulm (nowadays located in the Czech Republic) it's just about half an hour drive...

Also in Dresden I could show you the original "Napoleon-room" where he lived during his stay at Dresden (Marconi House) and later signed the armistice with Austrian's Metternich; and the "Napoleon-cobblesone" in the Dresden Old Town (Altstadt) where he stood to direct the defence during th August 1813 Battle for Dresden...

So feel free to get in contact for a "trip-framework"... :)

Cheers
